United States Defeat Guadeloupe & Advance Despite Dempsey Horror Show [VIDEO]

For me the story was simply against Guadeloupe for the USMNT: Clint Dempsey delivered one of the great disasters in US Soccer history.  After missing two point-blank headers in front of open nets, Dempsey did something that’s difficult to capture in words.  So I’ll let Grant Wahl do it:

A pass from Alejandro Bedoya left Dempsey standing alone on the ball two yards in front of the goal, only to stand on it so long that it was finally cleared from behind by defender Julien Ictoi. Worst miss in U.S. history? Can’t be far from the top.

If there was ever a game to have such a debacle, it was this one, I suppose.  Good teams will not sit idly as the US makes a meal out of every perfect chance to put the game away.  Jamaica is a good team.  We better come to play this time.

Also, what does Bob Bradley have against Maurice Edu that he can barely get a run out there?  The guy had an amazing year for Rangers… is that worth nothing?
