Euro Qualifiers: Group C leaders Italy face off against second place Slovenia

Serie A is dormant this week, but Gli Azzurri are finally back in action after a long break. Euro Qualifiers start up again today, and the Italy squad travels to the SRC Stozice Stadium in Ljubljana, Slovenia to take on a young, but quietly dangerous, Slovenia side.

Italy currently sits atop Group C, and a win tonight would go a long way towards Italy’s ultimate qualification for Euro 2012. Slovenia sits second in the group, just three points behind Italy. It is worth noting that Italy has never beaten Slovenia in an away match (1L, 1D), but Cesare Prandelli seems determined to take all three points tonight.

The starting 11 for Prandelli’s new look Italy is rumored to be: Buffon, Maggio, Bonucci, Chiellini, Balzaretti, Motta, Montolivo, Aquilani, Mauri, Pazzini and Cassano.

Kickoff is 3:45pm (EST), and the match will be broadcast online at ESPN3.

Forza Azzurri!
